Jojoba oil likes company – it is a very universal oil, suitable for all scalp and hair types. It is also tolerant and will work perfectly combined with other ingredients.
Therefore, if you lack of time for overnight hair oiling but you still want to take a better care of your hair – a good idea it to use hair masks. Below, we would like to present recipes for two homemade hair masks with the use of jojoba oil.
1. Nourishing hair mask with jojoba oil and egg yolk.
- One egg yolk
- Teaspoon of natural honey
- Teaspoon of jojoba oil
- Half a teaspoon of potato starch
- A few drops of lemon juice
- Optional: 2 teaspoons of your favourite mask or hair conditioner
All ingredients must be carefully blended with each other. Then, apply the mix on your hair and leave it on for about 30 minutes. You will obtain even better results if you heat it up. You might wrap your head in a previously warmed up towel or simply use a blow-dryer. In this case use hot air to improve the effects of natural ingredients.
After the desired period of time, wash the blend off. Moreover, if your hair is in a really bad condition, you might apply a drop of jojoba oil on the ends, after washing and drying. Thanks to such treatment, your hair will be smooth and glossy. For better results, it is advisable to apply this mask twice a month.
2. Hair mask with jojoba oil and yeast.
- 25 grams of baking yeast
- 50 ml of hot water
- 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil
Begin with dissolving yeast in water. After blending it in hot water, leave it aside to cool down. Later, add jojoba oil to the mixture. If it turns out too runny, it might be thicken by adding a spoonful of your favourite conditioner (preferably a natural one with no parabens or silicones).
Apply it carefully on your head and secure with a warmed up towel. After keeping it for 30 minutes, rinse it off and wash your hair thoroughly with a gentle shampoo. Jojoba-yeast hair mask is perfect for treating your scalp, especially the prone to greasing type. Additionally, it contributes to increasing volume and lifting the roots.
